08/06/2010 - Washington, DC (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Belgian Xavier Malisse upended top-seeded Tomas Berdych in Friday's quarterfinal action at the $1.402 million Legg Mason Tennis Classic, a hardcourt U.S. Open Series event.

The once-promising 30-year-old Malisse doused the Wimbledon runner-up Berdych in 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 fashion amid hot, sunny conditions at the Fitzgerald Tennis Center. The 6-foot-1 Malisse pulled off the upset in 2 hours, 10 minutes, as he tallied twice as many service breaks (4-2) as his taller 6-foot-4 Czech counterpart.

The world No. 8 Berdych was a French Open semifinalist in June and lost to Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon finale last month.

The 2010 Legg Mason champion will pocket $261,500.
